From frozen earth of winter sprang the greens. Soon there was a blanket of purple thistle to quench my thirst for color. One day a tractor plowed the whole field down and I was sad. But up popped the yellows of August in no time. Now they've all turned white and beige. The green hangs on just a little longer as fall seeps into the leaves and snow settles on the mountains.
